ANOTHER ME AND MJ STORY

During these relentlessly tough times for the King of Pop, I’d thought I’d share another adorable “Me and MJ” story with you. The first “Me and MJ” story generated alot of responses.

A Not So Typical Day In Court

The most exciting time for me was when Michael Jackson, his family and entourage arrived inside the courtroom at approximately 8:20 am (court officially began at 8:30 on the dot). Personal security protector, Cary, would walk Michael to his seat and then would sit in the rear of the viewing area to protect the KING OF POP and to escort Michael where ever he wanted to go during the 3 daily breaks.

During the first few weeks, Michael would usually stay inside the courtroom area during the first break to apparently discuss court details with his attorneys near the right wall of the courtroom area near the sheriff’s post. As hard as I tried to hear their conversations, I couldn’t even detect a small tone of a whisper. This was one time I’d wished I’d taken that course offered by the Learning Annex to read lips. But what I could tell was that Michael likes to eat little hard candies and furthermore, Michael’s parents and siblings often caringly circulated candy amongst themselves.

I always sat directly behind Michael's parents, which was to show them that I had their backs. One day, I almost asked for a piece of candy, but didn’t dare because those who worked for Santa Barbara Superior Court would have immediately expelled me from attending court proceedings for exchanging any type of interaction with the Jacksons, which was strictly prohibited. Although sometimes, Katherine would sneak a word or two whenever she could and she often greeted me with a big exciting smile.

For the most part, I’d wait for Michael to leave the courtroom, so I could look directly in his eyes in hopes that he’d look back at me and smile.

Michael has a very stellar walk that is strong and dignified. As I reflect back, I never noticed what he was wearing because I was seduced with the possibility that I might be able to see The REAL Michael Jackson--who is he, how was he feeling, did he know his friends from his foes?

On this particular day, which wasn’t the day that comedian Chris Tucker testified, nor was it the very nerve racking day that his ex-wife Debbie Rowe did the switch-a-roo testimony that embarrassed the prosecution, neither was it the day that his longtime friend, Macauley Culkin testified, it was the day that District Attorney, Tom Sneddon was boring the jury and the courtroom participants with phone records, police officer testimony, and other mundane elements that really didn’t add up to proving anything at all.

By being in the company of the Jacksons, I noticed that Michael is very respectful of his mother Katherine. One time, it was as if they could communicate telepathically with each other. On this particular occasion, the jury had left the courtroom and Cary wasn’t sure if Michael wanted to stay to hear some pleas for the Judge to allow or disallow certain witness testimony. I watched as Cary was somewhat confused about Michael’s intention to leave or to stay a few more minutes. Cary then asked Katherine if she was ready to leave and she signaled “yes” and one second later, Michael turned around for the first time (since the jury left) and began walking out of the courtroom area. I wondered how she knew that Michael wanted to leave at that precise second; he usually exited right after court was over, but this time he hesitated due to a new development in the case. It was rather impressive that Michael and his mother were that much in tune with each other that without speaking or signaling to each other, she knew exactly what he was going to do. I thought to myself “WOW, that’s deep!”

It was the middle of May and halfway through Michael’s most difficult time of his life (he still maintained a look of health and confidence). Court ended at exactly 2:30 every day. Many times, I’d wait for MJ to depart before leaving my seat and this day was no different. I was in awe that the most reclusive man in the world, Michael Jackson, someone that I’d greatly admired since I was 7 years old, would walk within one foot of me. I could literally extend my arm and touch him several times a day, but of course, I’d never disrespect his space in that manner.

Even though many of the courtroom participants had already exited, I left directly after Michael and his mother. Michael would not directly leave the courthouse. He ALWAYS went into the elevator to go upstairs to perhaps gain his composure, use the bathroom, and check his appearance to be sure he was presentable for the cameras, the information seeking media, and his many adoring fans.

It was always very exciting for me to secure a spot that I knew would grant me another clear opportunity to look into Michael’s soul. While waiting for Michael’s last appearance of the day, I would speak to other media in defense of Michael (oh, they hated me for supporting him and not joining their posse to hang him) and secure the perfect available spot to stand so that Michael would see me.

On this day, I was standing in the absolute perfect spot. I knew that I’d be the first person that Michael would see when he came out of the courthouse into the patio area. I was very excited that I had obtained the best seat in the house. And when Michael came out, he definitely saw me first. He must have been in shock because as soon as he saw me, he ran back inside the courthouse, as if he was a schoolyard boy running from someone he was too shy to see. We were all very perplexed by his behavior, the media rumbled in bewilderment and I remember one reporter standing nearby saying to me, “Did he just look at you and run back in?” Being just as puzzled as everyone else, I shrugged my shoulders and stared at the door waiting for him to return. In less than 30 seconds, Michael reappeared and apparently gained some composure and confidently walked out. And that was when I finally got that twinkle of a smile from him.

At last, a smile directed at me and only me. I felt so special that maybe he was hoping that I’d be the main person in the media that would assist him by spreading the truth about his total innocence by whatever means was necessary.

In our Docu-ality (documentary + reality) DVD, you can see how playful Michael is on our music video, "With A Child's Heart".

The very next time I was in court, a few of the reporters began to take more notice of me. They asked if I had previously known the Jackson’s, to which I replied, “No” and then said that they (the Jacksons) seemed to like me. I felt soooo very privileged that they had let it be known that they appreciated me in some small way.

As I reflect back, it became apparent that God had placed me there with a purpose, a duty to tell the world the TRUTH.

With all this in mind, me and my partner, Cecil Holmes produced “Behind the Scenes at the Michael Jackson Trial” to give the public the ammunition of facts to spread the whole world through. Even though Michael has been acquitted of ALL charges, he continues to need his fans to give him energy and strength to keep fighting the GOOD fight, so to re- establish the KING to his throne as the greatest Entertainer/Humanitarian the world has seen in the last 2005 years.

Thanks for caring,
