A Poem For MJ With Love

by Jalauddin Molana Rumi

Our death is our wedding with eternity.
What is the secret?
"To God we belong and to Him we shall return."
For he who is living in the Light of God,
The death of the carnal soul is a blessing.

When I die, when my coffin
Is being taken out
Never think that
I am missing this world.
Don't shed any tears
Don't lament or feel sorry
I'm not falling
into a monster's abyss.

When you see
My corpse is being carried
Don't cry for my leaving
I'm not leaving,
I'm arriving at Eternal Love.

For my funeral:
Call the drummers, the flute blowers,
And tambourine players.
March towards my grave dancing,
Happy, intoxicated, and with hands clapping
So that the people would know
That the friends of God
Always go happy and smiling
Towards the Place of Reunion.

On my funeral day
Don't say: What a separation!
It's my time to reunite with the Beloved.
Why complaining about the settings of
The Sun and the Moon?
Which seed that went under the earth
Has failed to grow up again?

You've seen my descent
Now watch my rising!
Rumi.
