Leaving on his ship from the berth

Leaving this planet the place called earth
.
On the ship he’s the captain
.
His own space no longer a prisoner held captive
.
Commanding the crew on deck
.
Making sure everything on board was in check
.
Searching for treasures lost at sea
.
Hidden there by pirates long ago another century
.
The treasures he found along this long voyage
.
Were all the lost memories of a boy
.
Who was always sheepish in nature always coy
.
The price he’d pay for this journey through the ocean
.
Followed him through childhood ‘till he became a man
.
From every age he felt he’d lost
.
The price he paid for the ride of his life, the extreme cost
.
Just to see the smiles on the faces of children
.
Would you do it over, would you do it again?
.
Not quite sure where he’d begin
.
Captain of the stage, commander of his ship
.
His whole time here was the grandest trip
.
He was so blessed to be able to sea
.
The happiness he shared was always free
.
In the eyes of a child happiness does live
.
The laughter and innocence is all they have to give
.
His Ship on earth took him to ports of healing
.
The aches and hurts the children were feeling
.
Out on his ship in they are reeling
.
All the love pouring fourth upon his leaving
.
As he sits and relishes all that he’s receiving
.
On his ship out to sea
