ANGELA’S LEAVES

A blustery day, a sudden gusty breeze

Set in motion a special bundle of leaves

I suddenly saw them, they were so precise

Leaves spinning, dancing as if they were skating on ice

In my mind I contemplatively thought of you

Remembering your twirling as they flew

Moving so effortlessly across the street

The Leaves were merely a metaphor of your dancing feet

Never thinking in all my life we would ever meet

Telling me you were just stopping for a moment

To let me know your were free from all the torment

Traveling the Earth as the wind

A spirit so very special in front of me did spin

You were able to move in your own delightful fashion

Dancing in unison with your desired passion

It's something quite unique all your own

Through this world you were rapidly blown

I reached out to touch the energy and flow

Asking you to stay forever and never let go

Never finding a place to rest and sleep

Finding that perfect place, your own to keep

Spinning and twirling so full of glee

Gathering together so happy and free

Other watching saw only the leaves spinning around

Only to MY heart was your presence felt and bound

The ultimate energy that lived in your twister

Like dancing and singing on stage with your sister

Never needing a prompt, so much skill

Watching them until they came to a stand still

Watching you until you had all but dropped

That magical spinning has sadly stopped

In your stopping something so divine

You’d taught some to spin others to shine

You our dancer gone from the stage

It’s our turn to follow, be the next page

A reflection of what you always were

Twisting leaves along with you I’m sure

You danced for me on this magical day

In my memory this time will always stay

You came spun and twisted around this world

But today you danced just for me, your girl
