Dr. Drew Reacts to New Details of Michael Jackson's Physician Care
Dr. Drew Pinsky -- addiction medicine specialist and resident doctor on VH1's reality show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" -- reacts to the shocking reports of Michael Jackson's medical care.
"I've never heard of Propofol being given outside a hospital," Dr. Drew tells ET, following claims made in a search affidavit that Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, allegedly treated the singer for insomnia with the drug.
He says of the search warrant details, "That is an outlandish maneuver and [Propofol] is certainly never given for insomnia."
Dr. Drew says that many celebrities think that standard medical care is not good enough for them. "Special care means sub-standard care," the reality show doctor tells ET.
"Celebrity by itself adulterates the patient-physician relationship, so if you add in large sums of money, then the relationship is essentially destroyed."
Keep checking ETonline for more details into the death investigation of the King of Pop. For more with Dr. Drew, check out VH1's "Celebrity Rehab."
