Goodnight My Angel
Goodnight my angel, gently close your eyes.
It's time for childhood songs and lullabyes.
The nighttime tears we'll slowly brush away
To place our flowers where you softly lay.
And though it's hard for us to let you go,
You've come home to a place you know.
They'll be no worries and no more pain.
You'll walk in the sunshine, instead of the rain.
Where "the hills and valleys are pristine,"
And all the gardens are like none you've ever seen.
So take your rest on this your sojourn true
Past the boundaries where the skies are blue.
To fly as high as you've always meant to be,
This dance of life's pure energy.
And if perchance you're looking down tonight,
On this, your celestial flight.
Know that we send up all our love to you,
And promise to carry on the work you tried to do.
So, goodnight my angel, in our dreams you'll shine,
And feel the love you've always meant to find.
Hearts will soften as the time has passed,
And you'll finally find your peace at last.
Dedicated to you, Michael, on this your 52nd
Birthday. Miss you so much, Love , Karen
