Hong Kong Fans Dance Tribute For MJ
Michael Jackson fans in Hong Kong paid tribute to the late King of Pop over the weekend by staging performances of his signature dance moves across the city.
The events began with fans dancing to the music of "Beat It" in the packed Mong Kok shopping district Sunday and were promptly joined by dozens of others. They imitated Jackson's signature, arm-swinging, finger-snapping movement and yelled "beat it" when the song reached its refrain.
Less than two minutes later, the crowd dispersed, walking away as if nothing had happened. A video of the performance has been posted on YouTube.
Fans staged two other performances Sunday in other parts of Hong Kong in which they imitated the moonwalk among other signature Michael Jackson dance moves.
Jackson fans in Hong Kong have been avidly commemorating his death, performing and speaking at shopping malls. Around 100 fans stayed up late into the night earlier this month to watch his official memorial on a big screen at a suburban mall.
