I’ll cry myself to sleep

Tears run down my cheeks,

It’s so hard to understand,

How this world took you for granted?

How some didn’t appreciate?

 

Knowing who you really was

And what you stood for,

Is this kind of consciousness

What makes so vast our loss.

 

I will stay loyal to the memory,

Even though my pain is huge.

Being emotional is perfectly human

That’s something you taught me too.

Your eyes will never meet mines,

Your smile won’t warm anymore,

My days or color my life,

For your loss I’ll forever mourn.

 

The voice of my heart is gone,

But still your music makes its way,

Between the quiet sadness and pain,

That over comes myself.

 

Holding my pillow tonight,

I’ll cry myself to sleep.

And for tomorrow I’ll hope,

This was just the worst of dreams.
