Jermaine Jackson & Marie Osmond Attend DWTS Together
STORY BELOW VIDEO PLEASE SCROLL DOWN
"Dancing with the Stars" alumna Marie Osmond was ET's special correspondent backstage at Monday night's season premiere. But before chatting it up with the new breed of dancers backstage, she and Jermaine Jackson told ET why they were there together.
"We're here to support Donny," Jermaine said. "Donny the dancer."
Marie went on to reveal what Donny told her about the Jacksons.
"[Donny] said to me he knows the Jacksons can dance, but he's not sure that the Osmond males can dance."
Meanwhile, sitting atop the scoreboard is pop star Aaron Carter. He told Marie, "I'm going to say this is more difficult...than Broadway. It's more consistent and there's things we're aiming for. And not only that. We have to change up everything each week, so versus being on Broadway, you learn a routine and then you just stick to that routine."
Marie's brother Donny Osmond is following in his sister's footsteps. Aiming to at least match his sister's third place finish, Donny and partner Kym Johnson started strong. They are currently sitting in second place. He said that the judges "were very critical and picky and they have to be."
On the opposite end of the spectrum, football hall of famer Michael Irvin and Ashley Hamilton are tied at the bottom of the scoreboard. Michael said of his partner Anna Demidova, "I was one of the tough guys in the NFL. She's trying to make me lose my reputation with all of this hip stuff." He understood the judge's criticism and knows that they need to clean up their dance moves in order to progress in the competition.
Donny isn't the only one with blood ties to "Dancing." Ashley is second in his family to compete for the coveted mirror ball trophy. His father, George Hamilton, took part in the show's second season. He offered his son words of encouragement after hearing the judge's remarks.
Ashley is okay with being in the company of Michael at the bottom of the scoreboard. He said, "To even have your name in the same sentence as Michael Irvin, I won."

In a plea for viewer votes, Ashley said, "Don't send me back home. I'd have to put tanning oil back on my dad's back. It'd be horrible."
