Happy Birthday, Michael! Letter from the Editor On August 29, 1958, Michael Jackson entered this world and changed it forever. Today, 52 years later, we celebrate him. He was one of the greatest entertainers and humanitarians ever; we were blessed to have lived in this lifetime with him. There are several wonderful items related to Michael’s birthday in the newsletter this week. Some very exciting news about the Wrapped In L.O.V.E. Patchwork Blankets is announced in this issue, just in time for his birthday! Be sure to watch the trailer for the film The Way He Makes Us Feel. It’s a very special documentary about how Michael Jackson has impacted the lives of his fans. This heartfelt film will premiere at a Hollywood Event on his birthday. The Tribute Portrait will be a featured attraction at the Premiere, where David Ilan will be placing dots on the canvas for guests. We are very much honored to be welcoming Omer, Michael Jackson’s close friend and apprentice, to our Tribute. This week he announced his endorsement and active support for The Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait. In his endorsement, he wrote a message to Michael: "You changed the world, and you still are. Your legacy will live for eternity. Thank you for making me the person I am today. I will do my best to make you proud. Love L.M."
We are thrilled to announce that the Wrapped in L.O.V.E. patchwork blankets have been delivered this week to Michael's mother and his children! They were presented as a gift – just in time for Michael's birthday – to Mrs. Jackson, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket from the Tribute and everyone who participated in this special project. Also delivered were the four registry books that contain the names of everyone who has a patch in one or more of the blankets, as well as the heartfelt cards and letters from our participating dot members.

The winner of the Commemorative Dot Certificate Fundraiser drawing will be announced on Michael's birthday and be awarded a dot in their name close to Michael's dot in his Tribute Portrait! The winner’s dot will be placed in the area of the heart, reserved for Michael's family and friends, and their name will be listed in the Artist’s Log.
