'We Cry' A Fan Tribute Poem by Karen M

We Cry
We cry for what might have been
For so much more potential within
For the special way you tugged at
our heartstrings.
With every song your spirit sings
We cry...
We cry for all your pain and sorrow
For your dreams of a better tommorrow
For your constant struggle for normalcy
And for the things that will never be.
We cry...
We cry for our separation of hearts
And your desire that "we'll never be apart"
For all the goodness and the love that
you've shown
And for all the seeds you've planted
and sown.
We cry...
We cry because your only real home
was the stage
And the gates of "Neverland" became your cage.
We cry because they tarred and feathered
your good name
And made you live with the lies and the shame.
We cry...
We cry for the legacy you've left behind
For the loss of a "true gentlemen" that's
hard to find.
For your tireless work with children's concerns
We cry for the lessons that might have
been learned.
We cry...
But happy tears will take the place,
Of the sad ones that stain our face.
Your message was spread on a global scale
"Love the children, heal the world's" tale.
So though we cry that you're not here
Your presence is felt both far and near.
Like Michaelangelo's paintings eternally give,
Your music is a time capsule that will
forever live.
And as we look beyond the skies,
Where your spirit soars like the "butterflies"
You're looking down from up above,
To wish for us a world of love.
