At the price of Fame

They treated you so wrongly

Like you didn’t have a heart

They dragged you from each venture

.

As if you didn’t care

.

For your life was always someone’s

.

For which you had to share

.

The parks you wished to play in

.

Were out of bounds for you

.

You needed to just practice

.

All the days worth through

.

Somewhere along the journey

.

To stardom there was no play

.

Took everything a child would want

.

The fame that was your pay

.

But you’d quit it in an instant

.

So you’d be left alone

.

Giving back the silver crown

.

And beautiful red velvet throne

.

A life of many colors

.

None meant anything more to you

.

Than the colors of your happiness

.

When with your children flew

.

A bird and flight of passion

.

We’ll never understand

.

Because you guarded life with them

.

You were first and foremost always dad

.

But to show them just how grand you were

.

One more show you would endure

.

You planned the most and grandest show

.

So in their life they’d understand and know

.

Why you guarded their childhood so

.

Why you lived behind a mask

.

The life you lived such a task

.

The greatest show on earth they say

.

But, oh the price you’d pay

.

To them you were their everything

.

You danced upon the stage

.

It didn’t matter how old you were you really couldn’t age

.

But now the show of daddy

.

The family of musical royalty

.

For Prince, Paris and Blanket

.

Will be the show they’ll never receive or get to see
